JULIET'S WEDDING

Beautiful Juliet booked my services for her wedding sometime last year, and because she was far away in the UK we didnt have a trial session. I met her in Ilorin a day to her wedding and she just told me to keep it simple and pretty.

On her wedding day, i started by styling her hair first (having installed it the day before) after which i moisturised her face and got into the makeup application.
I used Mary Kay Matte finish foundation on her face and the LA Girl concealer under the eyes to conceal dark circles.

The eyeshadow was a proper blend of gold heus form the Revealed Palette and she insisted on "No false lashes". For her lips we settled for Mac candy yum yum with a little bit of Sleek lip gloss. This combination really look good on her.
I finished the look with Milani Powder and Sleek Blush by3. Did i mention that Juliet really wanted to keep it simple, so we avoided all the game of contour and highlight.

I had a very wonderful time styling Juliet for her wedding and she sent me a heart warming 'Thank you' message after the event. For me, nothing beats the joy of reading such message from a satisfied client!
Cheers.

BRILLIANT HAIR ADVICE

Hello Friends, trust you are doing well...

Today, I want to share few of the questions I've been asked by clients, friends, and even family members. Most of these questions are about failed or failing hair due to various reasons such as Child birth, Breakage, Dry scalp, Hair loss and more.

I have done some research and here are my honest opinions about the issues concerning your hair.
Please feel free to leave your questions or opinion is the comment box. I really look forward to reading from you!

Question: My hair is breaking (in long strands) and it’s also shedding. I had a baby 5 months ago. I've been braiding, fixing, flat ironing and blow-drying my hair. What do you recommend?

Answer: There are two areas we need to address here; the excessive shedding and the breakage. Its not uncommon for mothers to shed more than usual hair after child birth. During pregnancy, your hair is in constant growing phase due to hormonal changes. After giving birth, the body returns to the normal hormonal pattern and the hair goes back to its normal three-phase pattern (growing phase, transition phase, resting phase). When the hair gets to the resting phase, a lot more hair will be lost. So the body will adjust and the normal amount of hair shedding will occur.
In regards to breakage, this is a result of an external cause, such as overlapping the relaxer onto previously relaxed strands. Remember: A relaxer retouch should only touch the new hair that has grown since the last relaxer application. Hair that has been the victim of overlapping has been chemically over-processed and therefore will be weak and fragile. Such hair breaks easily from flat ironing and even combing or brushing. Get a good trim, deep condition and try setting your hair instead of blow-drying, flat ironing or curling.

Q: How often should I trim my hair?

A: Normally, every 8 to 10 weeks your hair would have gone through some amount of growth. So you should trim off the weak/damaged ends after 8 to 10 weeks.

Q: I recently decided to go natural, but my hair is very hard to comb and its very painful. Pls help!!!

A: Dear Naturalista, first of all, I should commend you for deciding to grow your natural hair.Believe me, it’s the best type of hair you can have. Now getting your hair soft and easy to manage needs a lot of patience and nurture.Trust me, I went through the same road. Start with applying a deep conditioner, put on  plastic cap and wait for about 45 mins to allow the deep conditioner penetrate. Then rinse and apply a leave-in detangler and let that penetrate the hair for five minutes. Then, taking small sections, comb hair with a wide tooth comb from the ends up to the root. Remember, there are no short cuts with this technique, so take time to care for your hair. There are several natural hair care products you can use depending on your budget. You may want to try the Cantu Shea Butter products as they are very good.

Q: I have a severely dry scalp. I was wondering which products works best for removing the flakes, and keeping them away, so my hair can get hydrated and grow.

A:Your dry scalp might just be thirsty. Try oiling it with a natural oil such as jojoba, coconut oil or a lightweight product like grape seed oil. Apply oil to your fingertips and gently work it onto your scalp. Also, the scalp needs to be cleansed on a regular basis, even when wearing braids or sew ins. Apply an antiseptic to a cotton ball or swab and dab it on the itchy areas on your scalp.

These are just a few of the issues several ladies deal with. Do you have any questions or issues about your hair or products? please feel free to leave your comments below.

XOXO

HAPPY CUSTOMER!!!

Hello Dearies,

Trust you are all doing fine... Let me use this opportunity to appreciate those who spare time to read my blog and leave comments. You all have been a great source of motivation. I can do more with your continuous support.(((Hugs)))

Back to the matter, sometime last month, my Cousin referred her friend to me.(Thanks Cuz!) We chatted via whatsapp and exchanged a few calls. Finally, we met a day to her wedding and I immediately got to work on her hair, making sure that its ready for styling the next morning.

The wedding morning finally dawned and it was so cold, considering the fact that it had rained the previous night. Yet I had to work and I totally enjoyed every aspect of it. Especially the part where the photographer had to “borrow” my Media Card storage device because he didn’t come with any. And that made me wonder how such things happen... more like a farmer going to the farm without cutlass!

I had about 15mins to change her makeup, style her hair, and get her ready  for the church service...*whew! I love my job.

Here's wishing my wonderful bride a blissful marriage and thank you again for choosing Faceperfector! To our next client, We earnestly look forward to meeting you!

XOXO.

BRIDAL FEATURE

Hi Lovelies, sure you all are doing great. Sometime lastmonth, I got to do Ijeoma's hair for her big day (post coming up soon) and I met Osayi, Ijeoma's brides maid. I and Osayi bonded almost immediately and she asked if I would be free for 1st of February. Fast forward to the D-Day I got to Osayi's house and all hands were on deck to make sure everything went smoothly.
Osayi's Make up artist was busy transforming her while I styled her hair. The photographer was sooo cool, calm and collected. We all sang along to Micah Stampley's Heaven on Earth while it played on Osayi's phone.... I just love the calmness around this lady!!!! Wish you Marital bliss dearie!(((Hugsss))) Thank you for choosing Faceperfector! To all our intending clients, we earnestly look forward to meeting you! XOXO
